The same medication you used as a teenager
may be just as effective for an adult acne medication. You may be one
of the many adults that suffer acne long after puberty has faded.
However, you don't have to change the over the counter acne medication
you used as a teenager if it continues to work fine in adulthood.
Lotions with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur all are useful
to treat adult acne. The same is true of natural healing programs.
Prescription medication choices though, particularly for antibiotics,
have changed over time and may need to be investigated thoroughly
before choosing them for your treatment.
Because so much
importance has been placed upon natural scar treatment, it is no
wonder
so many myths surround acne breakouts. For instance, it is not true
that sweets themselves contribute to acne breakouts. However, high
sugar intake may make already oily skin more prone to infection.
Consumption of milk, has been linked to hormone-related breakouts.
Eating a lot of seafood may make existing acne worse.
OK,
myth or reality: there is a cure for acne? Myth. Although there is no
cure at this time, there are many treatments available that do a great
job. As the saying goes, Prevention is the best medicine; however,
there is no need to suffer in silence with all the options available on
the market today for all price ranges.
