In regard to meat: beef, lamb, or horsemeat are generally considered best, while pork is usually not recommended. Lamb or horsemeat are best served cooked, while beef may be fed either cooked or raw.
Convulsions can come about for a great variety of reasons. They might be due to injury, poisoning from certain chemicals, nervous disorders, brain inflammations due to an infectious disease, certain urinary disturbances, eclampsia, diabetes, foreign bodies in the stomach, or worms. The treatment of convulsions obviously depends on the cause. Whether or not the treatment can be successful depends upon how readily the cause can be eliminated. As a general rule, in the ordinary case where convulsions appear with increasing frequency, the likelihood of a cure is rather remote. That is why the animal who has convulsions should be brought to a veterinarian at the earliest possible moment. Often the application of quick emergency measures has been able to save many an animal’s life when, on the other hand, even a few moments’ delay would have so changed the situation that the animal would have had only a limited chance for survival.
The virus will attack the liver, eye, kidney, and blood vessel cells upon entry into the system of the dog. Fortunately, not all of these infections are fatal. Some dogs, after acquiring this virus, will manifest a cough, lethargy, loss of appetite, moodiness and low grade fevers. In some cases, they do not show any symptoms at all.

If, at the end of the two hour waiting period, it is plain that the animal has acquired a certain amount of ease in its new surroundings, a small dish of milk or dog food may be offered. A short time after this feeding, the animal will probably get drowsy and want to sleep. The animal may be bedded down in a carton box of comfortable size, into which some newspaper has been shredded. Often an animal may whine or cry for a couple of nights, but this will stop after it gets over its lonesomeness. VITAMIN B2, RIBOFLAVIN: This is another essential vitamin. Deficiencies of this vitamin may result in certain forms of liver trouble, anemia, muscular weakness in the hind legs; dermatitis on the hind legs, chest, and abdomen; and sore eyes. The best natural sources of vitamin B2 are liver and yeast. Other excellent sources are soy flour, beans, eggs, wheat germ, cheese, and milk. Dogs that are fed meat and milk or a standard dog food will rarely be affected by a deficiency of this vitamin. It is therefore fairly uncommon in the wellkept house dog.
