An allergy injection, also called immunotherapy, is a series of treatments meant to produce immunity to substances your dog is currently allergic to. Skin and blood testing is performed to find out what substances causes your pet’s allergies. These substances then are given to your dog in small but increasing amounts via injections. Over a period of time, the dog becomes desensitized to the substances and no longer exhibits allergic reactions to them.
Dogs have 42 teeth. Six pairs of sharp incisor teeth are in front of the mouth, flanked by two pairs of large canine ("dog") teeth. The other teeth are premolars and molars. The incisors and the canines are very important because the dog bites and tears at its food with these teeth.
In most instances, the veterinarian will prescribe a series of ear treatments until the inflammation is completely eliminated. If any fragment of the inflammation is permitted to remain, there will often be a recurrence of the condition. In serious cases of otitis, the series of ear treatments is extended. If the condition has advanced too far, even the best germkilling and healing agents will be ineffective, in which case the veterinarian must resort to surgery. However, the conscientious pet owner will rarely neglect his animal until such a drastic alternative is necessary.

It must also be understood that the mind of the dog is not as well developed as the human mind. Therefore dogs are often slow in “catching on” to what the owner is trying to teach. It must also be borne in mind that the animal’s power of concentration is limited; no more than half an hour a day should be devoted to training. Thus, especially at an early stage in training, an enormous amount of patience is necessary before the dog can be made to behave with any semblance of consistency.

Similar to some viral diseases, surviving an infection usually develops the sufficient immunity needed to protect the dog from distemper infection for the rest of their lives. However, lots of dogs (especially pups) do not survive infection.
